Book Review pt 2



 This book that I’m reading in English class for independent reading is called “The Girl Who Was Taken”. Basically it’s about two girls that were captured by the same guy and only one of them escaped, and we are trying to figure out what happened to the other one that didn’t escape. The girl who didn’t escape, Nicole, has a sister, Livia, who works in the morgue as a pathologist. She did an autopsy on this guy, Casey that apparently dated Nicole before she went missing, and she thinks that he has something to do with her death/disappearance. The books give point of views from Megan, the girl that escaped, Nicole, and Livia. Megan and Nicole went to school together and they didn’t like each other. Nicole was mean and self obsessed and Megan didn’t like her for it. Megan is being praised for her return, but nobody wants to talk about Nicole because it’s kind of sad and they lowkey forgot about her since nobody knows what happened to her. Now Livia is trying to figure out what happened to her sister. She drove eight hours to Casey’s mom’s house to try to get some info on him. Anyway that’s all I’m up to right now. I kind of like the book but I feel like it so slow. I feel like it’s the same thing over and over again like can we just figure out where Nicole went and end the book? I like when the book has flashbacks because I get to see how Nicole was as a person before she went missing. Honestly I didn’t like her though because she was so rude to everyone. And she only cared about what boys thought of her and she had no self respect. 😬 That’s not how you wanna be in life. I also don’t like how it shows us so much of Livia life like not trying to be mean but I really don’t care. The book isn’t about her. And the book is so long too like I’m not even halfway done yet. I would recommend this book to someone who likes reading mystery books but I would skip the part where it just shows Livia s career before she founds out about the guy Casey. It doesn’t do much to contribute to the plot. I might be wrong though like maybe I’m not thinking about it enough. Anyways thats it, overall it’s a pretty good book I would rate it an 7/10 so far. Hey so this blog is going to be about my amazing English class. My teacher is Mr Dellorusso. I have English today last period and we did independent reading for the first half of class. Sometimes English is fun when we don’t do anything but sometimes it can be pretty annoying. But I guess we have to come either way. It was fun when we had to act out a play. The group of boys sitting in the back recreated the diddy party. It was kind of disturbing but funny at the same time. I pretty much sit in a group with like 7 people and it’s always fun hearing their conversations. This classroom doesn’t have any windows so it’s always dim in here which I kind of like because the bright lights in other classrooms sometimes give me headaches. And it’s always freezing in here, but it’s fine because it’s better than being hot. Book review

We have to do independent reading for the first 20-30 minutes of English class. The book I’m reading is called The Girl Who Was Taken. It’s about two girls who were abducted by the same guy, but only one escaped. The girl who escaped, Megan, is sharing her story but nobody wants to talk about the girl that is still missing, Nicole, because nobody knows what happened to her. Nicole’s sister, Livia is sharing her point of view in the chapter I’m on right now. She is saying that every program she applied to is accepting her because of her backstory. She does autopsies in the morgue I think and she was saying how she keeps looking for her sister’s dead body in the morgue because she doesn’t really know what happened to her, and if she finds her dead body, it will tell her what happened to her sister and she will know that she’s not missing anymore. She feels guilty for her disappearance because the day she got abducted she called Livia at midnight so that she could save her but Livia didn’...
